HANDLING & MOVING OF INANIMATE LOADS

This course is designed to raise awareness of the problems which improper handling of inanimate loads can cause and to develop good practice to prevent injuries.

RISK ASSESSMENT WORKSHOP

This workshop would take place with a small number of staff in your own environment to help them to assess risks and develop skills in risk assessment in the workplace.

MANUAL HANDLING RISK ASSESSMENT (INANIMATE LOADS)

A 1 day course on handling objects in the workplace and assessing risk using MAC Tools.

IOSH – WORKING SAFELY & MANAGING SAFELY

The College offers these IOSH courses which are aimed at ensuring staff at all levels have an awareness of the health and safety issues which affect them and those they work with.

WORKING SAFELY

Is a 1 day course for all staff to ensure safe practices are followed.

MANAGING SAFELY is aimed at those with supervisory and managerial responsibilities to ensure the safety of staff and the working environment.

REHIS – FOOD HYGIENE

An introductory course aimed at catering staff and food handlers. The course is suitable for anyone involved in food retail, food service and food preparation. Successful students will gain an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.

Many of the courses offered by the Commercial Business Unit have ILA accreditation.

SKILLCARD

This course fulfils the Health and Safety Competence level to gain an Engineering Skills card within the Building Services sector. It is aimed at individuals, companies, and HVCA members working within the construction industry.

NEW F-GAS LEVEL 2 AWARD IN F-GAS REGULATIONS (C&G 2079)

North Glasgow College has invested in the delivery of this course in order to meet the needs of industry and to provide compliance with the new legislative framework.

Candidates who wish to comply with the new F-Gas Regulations and be able to handle refrigerants safely and competently will find this course invaluable.

The environmental and legal implications regarding Safe Refrigerant Handling makes this course essential for persons directly or indirectly connected with refrigerants.

Testing of the candidates will be by a combination of practical skills assessment followed by a closed-book theory test using the City and Guilds GOLA on-line system.

LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE IN THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS (BS 7671: 2008) 2382/10

This course covers the 17th Edition Electrical regulations and lasts for 4 days plus GOLA assessment.

LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE IN THE REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS (BS 7671: 2008) 2382/20

This is the update course designed for those who have their 16th Edition certificate and lasts 1 day plus assessment.
