DESCRIPTION

This is a two year part time course running two days per week and is designed to meet the needs of individual learners with additional support needs who wish to broaden areas of their learning, complementing work being done in Resource Centres. This course aims to promote independence, maturity and confidence.

All learners are assigned a Guidance tutor and receive a high level of support throughout their course. Each learner will have an Individual Learning Plan. During the year staff liaise with Resource Centres and other Agencies.

Our teaching areas are adapted to suit the needs of all learners, including those with personal care needs. Two welfare auxiliaries give additional support to all the learners. Individual support workers may support learners where this is recommended. This is funded by other agencies e.g. Social Work Department.
