DESCRIPTION
A one year full-time SQA course designed to prepare learners for a wide range of engineering, technology and physical science degrees and therefore aims to provide a broad-based science education.
CONTENT
The programme of studies consists of SQA Intermediate and Higher units in the following subject areas: Engineering | Physics | Mathematics | Computing | Communication Learning Skills.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
No formal entry requirements are required. Entry by interview.
QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION
A group of SQA units that will guarantee, successful learners, a place in Higher Education.

Higher National Certificate
Engineering Manufacturing
SCQF Level 7
DESCRIPTION
This one year, full-time or part time HNC Engineering Manufacturing / Mechanical course enables learners to follow an integrated programme leading to a post of responsibility in engineering.
CONTENT
Aspects of engineering including: Design | Quality Assurance | Information Technology | Mechanical Principles | Computer Aided Design | Economics | CNC | Manufacturing Processes | Plant Systems.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Appropriate NQ Units, credit passes in Mathematics, Science, Physics or Technological Studies.
QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION
HNC in Engineering. Successful learners may progress to 2nd year entry to various universities.

Pre-Vocational
Motor Vehicle Training
SCQF Level 4
DESCRIPTION
A skill-based course with an emphasis on Motor Vehicle Workshop Practice.
CONTENT
Basic Vehicle Layout | Vehicle Electrics | Engine Power Units | Social Skills | I.T. | Health & Safety Regulations | Welding | Core Skills | Fabrication.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
School leavers starting August, unemployed.
QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION
A practical training programme covering a range of Motor Vehicle Engineering skills with core areas including numeracy, social skills, I.T. and communication. Progression onto City & Guild courses or possible employment within the Motor Vehicle Trade.
