DESCRIPTION
A one-year workplace assessed qualification supported by a flexible training programme of approximately 36 weeks.
Candidates wishing to undertake this qualification should be employed in the childcare sector in a supported (supervised) role.
CONTENT
Contribute to Positive Relationships | Help to Keep Children Safe | Support Children’s Development | Use Support to Develop own practice in Children’s Care, Learning and Development | Prepare and Maintain Environments to meet Children’s Needs | Support Children’s Play and Learning and one Optional Unit.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Entry is normally through sponsorship by an employer. It is recommended that candidates have a minimum of 3 standard grades, one of which should be English at credit level, however mature candidates with considerable experience in the sector are also invited to apply.
QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION
SVQ Level 3 Children’s Care Learning and Development; HNC Early Education and Childcare or employment as a support worker in a childcare setting.

DESCRIPTION
Workplace assessed qualification supported by a flexible training programme of approximately 36 weeks. Level 3 candidates will normally take approximately 15 months to complete the qualification and should be working, with minimal supervision, in a childcare setting.

Develop and Promote Positive Relationships | Develop and Maintain a Healthy Safe and Secure Environment for Children | Promote Children’s Development | Reflect on and Develop Practice | Protect and Promote Children’s Rights and four Optional Units.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Entry is normally through sponsorship by an employer. Applicants should have a Level 2 in Children’s Care Learning and Development; SVQ 2 Early Years Care and Education; Playwork Level 2 or relevant national Certificate Units in Childcare. Mature candidates who have current practical experience and who have been working in a Childcare setting at a level appropriate to the standards are also eligible to apply.
QUALIFICATIONS & PROGRESSION
Employment in the Childcare and Playwork sectors at practitioner level and progression to SVQ Level 4.
