The ANSI T11.3 FC-SP draft defines multiple standards, including:
• Diffie-Hellman Key Encryption Protocol-Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (DH-CHAP) is a version of the widely used CHAP protocol that uses encrypted keys. CHAP works with RADIUS authentication servers, and is also used in iSCSI, so SAN administrators can deploy one authentication technique for both FC and iSCSI. This method is promoted by McDATA and Cisco.
• Fibre Channel Authentication Protocol (FCAP) uses digital certificates. It is promoted by Brocade.
• Fibre Channel Password Authentication and Key Exchange Protocol (FCPAP) uses Secure Remote Password (SRP). SRP is a secure password-based authentication and key-exchange protocol.
