A normal SCSI Write command requires 2 round trips: Initiator sends FCP_WRITE, and then waits for target to send XFER_RDY. Initiator then sends FCP_DATA and then waits for FCP_RSP (status) This means that the initiator must: Wait for 1 round trip to complete (XFER_RDY received) before sending data
Wait for another round trip to complete (FCP_RSP received) before clearing the I/O buffer
