Today, however, the inherent security provided by SAN islands is no longer the case. SAN extension takes the SAN outside of the secure data center, and IP storage technologies like FCIP, iSCSI, and iFCP make the SAN vulnerable to the same well-known vulnerabilities that affect any IP network.
