o Quality of Service: This is a circuit connect system where two devices make a
connection but do not need all the bandwidth of the connection. Quality of Service allows a circuit connection of a requested bandwidth (e.g. 20 MB/s) to be made and leaves the rest of the bandwidth (e.g. 100MB/s – 20MB/s = 80MB/s) available for other devices to use at the same time. The QoS connection is guaranteed the bandwidth. In operation this is like a Circuit Connection – make a connection, exchange data, break connection. Quality of Service connections are uni-directional and the circuit when established is known as a ‘Virtual Circuit’.
