Biotech products derived from managed reforestation Amazon Biome Oil® and Maqui Berry® are just two commercial examples of the limitless possibilities of ingredients that can be produced through fermentation. The Amazon Biome Oil has its origin in the exotic Amazonian Brazilian myrrh flowers. It has high antioxidant activity and anti-ageing active which reduces wrinkles and signs of premature skin ageing. As demonstrated in the analyses

below, through high-performance liquid chromatography, the product has high concentrations of actives that have been proven to have antioxidant action. The physical chemical analysis demonstrates the fixed characteristics of the oil and the results are positive. Fermented Maqui Berry Oil is a powerful

anti-ageing bioactive due to its high content of potent antioxidants. The small purple fruit is indigenous to the southern region of Chile and Argentina, thriving in the natural cold habitat. Both Amazon Biome Oil and Maqui Berry

Oil are rich in biomimetic retinol. Retinoids exert their effects through binding to nuclear receptors known as RARs (retinoic acid receptors) and RXRs (retinoid X receptors). It is precisely there that the activities

related to the action of retinoids begin, such as the proliferation of fibroblasts, stimulation of the production of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans, which are essential components of the extracellular matrix of the skin. They are rich in flavonoids, terpenes, phenylpropanoids, lipids and benzenes. As with every product produced by Plantus,

Amazon Biome and Maqui Berry are cultivated by Plantus Farms, which are reforestation areas and generate employment and a source of income for the communities nearby the farm, consolidating that sustainable chain. Downstream use of by product ingredients from these processes that might typically be considered a waste stream are used in finished goods in the form of soap and body wash products.

employment for communities around the farm. The entire Plantus production sequence begins in our farms based on the current needs of our customers and promoting unique new innovative products that can showcase the biodiversity of our farms and the natural environment. In addition to the production of ingredients

of natural and organic origin for the cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical industries, at the Plantus Group’s manufacturing unit also contains a cosmetics and sanitising products manufacturing unit, Prolab Aromatique, which utilises Plantus products in some cosmetics formulations.
