Lubrizol unveils sensory-boosting natural film former
Lubrizol has taken the wraps off Sensomer Tara polymer, a multifunctional, biodegradable natural film former and thickener said to enhance the consumer sensory experience in skin care, hair care and hair colour applications. The US maker says Sensomer
Tara polymer has the ability to reach viscosity of 40,000 mPa∙s, enabling creation of high- viscosity formulations for a thicker, creamier and silkier feel in beauty formulations, including moisturizers, sunscreens, hair conditioners, styling
products and colour treatments. In skin care applications, the
new ingredient is said to have a silky feel with no drag or stickiness, while its creamy texture provides good pickup with no stringiness. A blind test performed by six
expert sensory panelists revealed a perception of the polymer being softer and less sticky during application, with reduced pilling in afterfeel. It also has a synergy with Kelco-
Care diutan gum that increases the yield value, leading to robust
emulsion stabilization and higher viscosity.
When added to conditioners
and treatments, Sensomer Tara polymer brings conditioning benefits to the fibre, while providing a smooth and easy to spread texture. In styling applications, it shows
better curl retention and better smoothness feel than guar gum. In addition, it has anti-pollution properties, protecting the fibre against particle adhesion. Finally, in colouration it enables
no-drip rheology for a better consumer experience. Sensomer Tara polymer is
COSMOS approved, vegan suitable and microbiome friendly. It is also readily biodegradable.
Gattefossé unwraps latest formulations in Inspiration collection
French cosmetic ingredients manufacturer Gattefossé has revealed the latest formulations in its Inspiration collection. Under the overall theme
of ‘Renaissance’, the seven formulations co-developed by Gattefossé application laboratories in Lyon and the United States fall under two categories, ‘Walk in the Woods’ and ‘Eternal Daydream’. There are three Walk in the
Woods formulations: Mas’Caring Primer, Root Renewal Essence and Redness Rescue Paste. The four Eternal Daydream formulations are Cosmic
Chromorphing Shadow, Starlight Luminizer Serum, Dreamy Cloud Cream and Gelly Pink Potion. “For this new edition of
Inspiration 2024, we have developed the concept of Renaissance - like a fairy tale. The story begins in the depths of the forest, a natural source of renewal where positive benefits manifest on our well-being, reconnecting us to our roots,” said Gattefossé France technical marketing
manager Marine Lochouarn. “It is a true rebirth, a
reconnection between human beings and their environment. The narrative continues by drawing from the imagination, thus reviving the inner child with magic and wonder. To cultivate these dream moments, I invite you to explore our new collection of formulas and let your imagination run wild,” she added.
