Page 97 KIC Showcases Real-Time Data Analytics Dashboard

San Diego, CA — KIC is launching its new traceability and data analytics software in the Chinese market at NEPCON China 2018. The suite of products is led by the company’s Vantage network software system and includes the SPS smart profiler. The new KIC Vantage software is designed to help engineers gain more insight into their reflow and wave sol- der processes, enabling better and faster decision making. It provides a real-time dashboard for thermal processes, accessible from anywhere, from any authorized PC or mobile device.

The process data is automatically stored in a central location where the engineer can quickly retrieve and share all relevant information for process traceability.

Vantage delivers value to users, not through massive amounts of raw data, but through convenient access to only relevant and actionable items. With a few mouse clicks, the user can access traceability data for every assembled PCB sorted by time frame, oven, shift, client name, or all of these filters.

Approach to IGBT Control

approved for railway applications. The active polymer optical fiber module enables the user to connect up to 16 optical channels at the same time in tight assembly spaces, which simplifies installation and service. HARTING builds customized sys- tems that are designed and tested to meet specific customer requirements. The integration of the optical inter- face in an easily replaceable, plug-in connector, makes servicing the con- troller boards fast, simple and inex- pensive.

This system also supports data rates of up to 50 Mb/s, which is more than is typically needed. Due to the high edge steepness of the sender ele- ments, 3.3 and 5V supply voltages can be used.

The new DIN connections will be first installed in the company’s con- troller boards. The IGBT driver board will remain unchanged until the sys- tem is more widely adopted. This incremental approach allows cus- tomers to upgrade systems gradually. In the future, this principle can be applied to the driver board as well, enabling bidirectional optical plugging and electrical transmission with a compact D-sub housing. This would result in the creation of a bilateral, active optical cable for IGBT control. This robust and serv- ice-friendly solution will soon be available for many industrial appli- cations, reaching far beyond the rail- way market. seconds, the smart profiler also sug- gests an improved reflow oven setup. The profiler also uses smart fac- tory technologies to acquire and ana- lyze the thermal process for new insight and actionable data, leading to increased production line utiliza- tion, reduced rework and reduced energy usage.
