Koh Young Installs 11,000th AOI System
Chandler, AZ — Located just outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dynamic Manufacturing, a Matric Group Company, recently installed a new Zenith automatic optical inspection (AOI) platform from Koh Young Technology. The Zenith installation marks the 11,000th machine deliv- ered by Koh Young. Since 1971, the Matric Group
has remained focused on delivering value-added electronic manufactur- ing services, including engineering design and layout, aftermarket serv- ices, electromechanical box build, and cable assembly, to OEMs in a variety of fields. “Matric has dedicated itself to producing safe, effective products that meet customer performance and reliability requirements,” says Rick Turner, president of Matric Group. “Our staff is committed to continual quality improvement in everything we do for our partners. We are dedi- cated to meeting the needs of those that rely on us.” Matric Group com- prises Matric Limited and Dynamic Manufacturing. “To deliver the highest product
quality and satisfaction to our cus- tomers, it was becoming clear that we needed to upgrade our existing in- spection capabilities,” says Mike Eisenman, general manager of Dy- namic Manufacturing. “After a com- prehensive review of the AOI plat- forms available on the market, Koh Young quickly emerged as the leader, due in part to its fundamen- tal focus on 3D measurement.” The True 3D technology in the
Zenith has dramatically increased the company’s inspection capabili- ties, while reducing its number of false calls. “With the Koh Young 3D technology, we can inspect areas and features with greater accuracy and more reliability. These gains boosted our inspection performance and im- proved production rates almost im-
among manufacturers across the global electronics manufacturing in- dustry.
“Given this significant 11,000th
machine milestone and our expand- ing user base, it is clear Koh Young remains a preferred 3D measure- ment solution,” says Juan Arango, Koh Young America’s managing di-

true profilometric shapes, joints, pat- terns, and more, while finding for- eign material on the boards. These functions are all designed from the start using true-3D measurement technology. 4.0 strategy is to clearly define what core competencies we want to keep de- veloping in-house, and where it makes more sense to partner with other industry leaders to complement our own solutions,” says Glenn Farris, VP of marketing at Universal Instru- ments. Some of the company’s cus- tomers are now expecting a single source for complete manufacturing lines, including various machines and the software to connect them all. In- dustry 4.0 has significantly raised the bar of customer expectations for smart manufacturing. “Moving for- ward, the key to success is collabora- tion and integration between best-of- breed technologies,” says Farris. “Our past experience with Cogiscan has demonstrated that we can count on them to deliver reliable technology
and outstanding customer support.” Contact: Cogiscan, Inc., 28-B
