Mitutoyo America Intros Rockwell Hardness Tester
Aurora, IL — Mitutoyo America Cor- poration has released the latest Rockwell hardness testers in its HR- 530 series, which includes the HR- 530, which accommodates a maxi- mum specimen height of 9.8 in. (25 cm) and a depth of 5.9 in. (15 cm) and the HR-530L, which handles a maxi- mum specimen height of 15.6 in. (40 cm) and a depth of 5.9 in. (15 cm). The series has specially de-
signed electronic controls that give it capabilities for Rockwell, Rockwell Superficial, Rockwell testing of plas- tics (A and B) and light-force Brinell hardness testing. Features include inside ring
hardness testing and a display with a color touchscreen. Inside ring hard- ness testing tests the hardness of an inside ring wall without cutting the ring. The minimum diameter is 1.3 in. (34 mm), but inside diameters as small as 0.9 in. (22 mm) can be test- ed with the optional 0.2 in. (5 mm) diamond indenter. The color touchscreen displays
the results of statistical calculations and graphic functions, which can be stored as text. The touch panel dis- play can be mounted on top of the tester to save space. Touchscreen functions include direct hardness scale selection, curved surface com- pensation and measurement and sta- tistical analysis. The required hard- ness scale can be selected with the
