Fremont, CA — Saki Corporation is showcasing its fifth-generation, 3D AOI and 3D SPI sys- tems and software at NEPCON China. The company’s 3D AOI and SPI systems are fast and accurate, with a position accuracy of 0.1 to 0.4 mil (3 to 9 μm), at three sigma, for 99.7 per- cent positioning accuracy.
These systems offer a choice of resolutions: 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 mil (7, 12 and 18 μm). They can inspect and measure components from the smallest available up to 0.8 in. (20 mm) in height, come in both single and dual lanes, and can handle boards of any size.
An advantage of the company’s machines is their optical and lighting system. A quad-side camera ensures inspection of the entire board, including dead angles and areas missed by overhead cameras.
Thermaltronics Launches Full-Vision Soldering Robot
Fremont, CA — Thermaltronics is showcasing its TMT-R9800S solder- ing robot at NEPCON China. Unlike typical Cartesian robots, this mach- ine is equipped with full vision. This allows it to verify the procedure dur- ing processing rather than simply follow a predetermined program. The robotic system incorporates several special design concepts and precision components. The combina- tion of precise hardware and intelli- gent software adds to its overall accuracy and lowers operator train- ing costs.
The head does not wear out or need chang- ing, saving time and the cost of replacement. Saki’s AOI and SPI systems, along with its automated X-ray inspection (AXI) system, are part of the smart factory, Industry 4.0, machine- to-machine (M2M) movement, and have been selected by major pick-and-place and screen printer companies as production partners.
