Fremont, CA —TOYOTech, LLC, a U.S. distrib- utor for Risho Kogyo Co., Ltd., is now offering a new thermal material for PCB fabrication. AC- 7303, a CCL (copper-clad laminate) PCB mate- rial, has an aluminum base, which is excellent for high-thermal PCBs. AC-7303 offers a ther- mal conductivity of 3 W/m-K, an extremely low modulus (1/10 that of conventional material), and a flexible dielectric layer after curing. AC- 7303 with an aluminum base creates a soft in- sulation layer even after thermosetting. The soft insulation layer absorbs thermal

expansion of the aluminum plate, reducing sol- der cracking. It is used for applications that in- clude automotive electronics, such as EPS, power modules, inverters, DC-DC converters, power supplies, and others. AC-7303 is typically a dielectric layer with

a thickness of 4.7 mil (120 µm). Its Young mod- ulus (GPa) is 2.4 at room temperature and the material is able to absorb stresses, due to its ex- treme elasticity, making it resistant to solder joint cracking. It maintains its integrity even with significant thermal cycling from –67 to +2,282°F (–55 to +1,250°C). AC-7303 serves as either a dielectric layer

or a bonding layer between copper foil and alu- minum plate for a metal-base CCL, as a bonding layer between layers of release film, or as a bonding layer between release film and copper

foil as an RCC (resin-coated copper) layer. Contact: TOYOTech, LLC, 42840 Christy

Microscan Increases Vision Portfolio

Renton, WA — Omron’s recent acqui- sition of Microscan has greatly ex- panded the company’s offering of vi- sion systems. The HAWK MV-4000 is a high-

performance smart camera that has four times the processing power and six times the frame rate of the previ- ous generation. The company’s PanelScan trace-

ability system has been designed specifically for capturing barcode data on multi-array PCBs. For em- bedded applications, the Micro-
