Ottawa, Ontario, Canada — FRAMOS® is now offering Fujinon’s latest anti-shock and vibration lens- es for robotics and industrial applica- tions. The HF-12M and HF-5M series are designed for industrial imaging systems that undergo motion, shock and vibration, and must mitigate these forces for consis- tent image quality. The new Fujinon design has been tested under 10G and sine wave vibration at up to 500 Hz and 328.08 ft/s2 (100 m/s2). Fujinon’s anti-shock and vibra-

tion design is based on a patented elastic fixation of the internal lens arrangement, which not only pro- vides long-term protection against shocks and vibrations, but also works well with changes in humidity and temperature. The optical axis shifts by 0.2 to a

maximum of 0.4 mil (4 to 10 µm), reducing dependency on adhesives. FRAMOS experts support customers from sensor to system in the integra- tion of lenses and camera systems in applications and projects. For objec- tives, FRAMOS provides independent test charts, as well as product com- parisons, and advises customers in choosing the best vision components. Most machine vision installa-

tions make use of cameras with C- mount lenses with fixed focal lengths, which need to provide con-

sistent image quality irrespective of harsh conditions. Modern robotic arms are so powerful that they can move loads with several multiples of the acceleration due to gravity. Robot-guided image processing sys- tems must withstand these accelera- tions and are also exposed to the vibrations at the tip of the robot arms. The same applies to camera lens setups on large machines with
