‘Thrive @Matravers’ – information for parents/carers about key issues surrounding health and welfare. In this edition you’ll find:

‘Keep Safe’ – helping navigate some of the challenges and risks to staying safe, with continued focus on staying safe online and some advice on sexting.

‘What to do if…’ – information about organisations which are there to support you and your child if you have concerns about self-harm.

‘Hot Topic’ – this edition we have included some information about our participation in the exciting Thrive Hub initiative.

Further to this information, should you have any concerns regarding your children or feel like you require assistance please contact the school as we are currently running ‘Triple P’ parent support groups, run by Wiltshire Council. These free sessions are excellent for supporting parents through any situation.

Don’t forget, the information included here can be found on our Thrive @Matravers section on our website (www.matravers.wilts.sch.uk/thrive).

Mental Health

Matravers is proud to be part of a county wide initiative, the Thrive project, placing CAMHS workers directly into schools to assist in the training of our staff in supporting students with mental health issues and offering a direct triage service to assist in making sure student’s get the support they need quickly.

Our designated metal health specialist, Stacey Sapsford, has a wealth of experience in a number of different pediatric mental health roles. Stacy offers a drop-in service for students every Wednesday lunchtime and there is no booking required; please encourage your child to see Stacey or speak to a trusted adult if they have any concerns or if you feel they might need support.

Matravers and the White Horse Health Centre are dedicated to supporting you and your family with any mental health issues. Should you feel your child needs immediate support or is at risk please don’t wait for Wednesday and seek an emergency clinical appointment.

Together, our aim is to support children to thrive! www.matravers.wilts.sch.uk
