As I eluded to earlier in the update the year group have performed exceptionally well in the first Mark Book Update of the year. Through analysis of the data it has produced it shows that 90% of the year group are either on track or likely to exceed targets by the end of the year in English which is superb to hear so early on in the year. In Maths it’s a slightly better picture with 93% of the year group on track or exceeding their flight paths in relation to their end of year 8 targets. A superb start to the year I’m sure you’d agree and looking forward to the rest of the year and their accomplishments.

With even more things to look forward to hopefully the year group will move from strength to strength and empower themselves to strive and exceed their own expectations. A few of these highlights include; Inter tutor competitions within Sport in various activities


planned for later in the year, trips to Universities including Bath and Bath Spa, visitors into school to highlight various career pathways and necessary academic requirements needed to achieve specific careers, celebratory trips due to fantastic MBU1 results, a new take on charity week to raise money for our year charity and the notorious Christmas celebratory assembly are all things in the not too distant future to get involved in and flourish.


The year group continue to impress me not just academically but in so many other different ways and I for one are extremely proud of their accomplishments. Not just within school but those achievements in extracurricular activities associated with school and also those accomplishments outside of School too.
