Cicoil Intros Filler-Free Flat Ethernet Cables

Valencia, CA — For Ethernet appli- cations that require flexible and lightweight cable designs, Cicoil is now offering filler-free, Cat5e and Cat6a Ethernet cables. These flexible flat cables do without cumbersome insulating materials, fil - lers, talc, and tapes, re - sulting in a more light- weight, flexible and space- saving cable design. The company’s paten -

Each pair is separately encased in a solid, one-piece construction, ensuring that they do not rub against each other and wear during a lifetime of 15 mil- lion flexing cycles. The rectangular cross-section also allows multiple flat Ethernet cables to be stacked, or lay- ered, with almost no wasted space between cables, providing maximum conductor density for a given volume. High mass, heat-sinking, lead-free PCBs have met their match.

PACE introduces the PH 100 low profile IR preheater for the most challenging PCBs

The PACE PH100 is a high powered (1600W), non-contact infrared heating system with an ergonomic, low-profile design which permits operators to safely pre-heat PCBs for fast, efficient soldering, rework or repair

Features:

• Sleek, incredibly low working height improves operator comfort and reduces fatigue, perfect for under microscope

• Intuitive 3.5" resistive Touch Screen Display for all operations • Large 300mm x 300mm (11.8" x 11.8") heating area

dled cables, which incorporate exces- sive inner components and materials, the simplicity of the flat cables with their parallel conductor geometry eliminates many of the common sources of wiring error and malfunc- tion. Registration of the individually- twisted shielded pairs are one-to-one with the terminating connector on board so that proper contact assign- ment is almost automatic. Since the conductor spacing is fixed and the geometry of the cable is constant, the signal transmission is consistent. The outer jacket is self-healing

In addition, cable

strength is enhanced by the fact that all conductors and insulation of the pairs equally share tensile loads. Standard off-the-shelf Cat5e

and Cat6a cables are available for immediate delivery and cable assem- blies, complete with connectors, are offered in 3, 6 and 12 ft. (0.9, 1.8 and 3.7m) lengths. Cicoil also offers low- friction coatings, custom shape and torsion designs by request. The flat Ethernet cables are UL-

recognized, CE-conforming, RoHS- and REACH-compliant, Class 1 clean- room-rated, are manufactured in an automated, climate-controlled envi- ronment, and exceed Cat5e/ Cat6a

United Resin: Low-Weight Two-Component Epoxy

Royal Oak, MI — United Resin Corporation has introduced its Aero- Lite Resin and 205 hardener, which according to the company, is approx- imately 52 percent lighter than con- ventional potting and encapsulating epoxy systems. The material was formulated

for applications that require reduced weight, such as in aerospace, auto- motive and electronic applications. The two-component epoxy has low density, low mixed viscosity, low shrinkage, low CTE, and meets the

flammability requirements of UL-94- VO. The material exhibits thermal shock and impact-resistant proper- ties, as well as good cosmetics when cured. Since its components are hydrophobic (water-repellant), mois-

ture absorption is negligible. Contact: United Resin Corp.,
