Waltham, MA — Excelitas Technologies® has intro- duced its OmniCure® LX500 UV LED spot curing system, targeting medical device and electronics applications. The OmniCure LX500 provides high irradiance and optical stability through the compa- ny’s proprietary Intelli-Lamp® LED technology. Leveraging years of wide-ranging application expe- rience, this system is designed for use in medical devices such as catheters, cannulas, endoscopes and syringes, as well as electronics such as CCM, smart- phones, tablets, micro-speakers, lenses, and for gen- eral-purpose curing applications. Intelligent and easy to program, the UV cur-


ing system is equipped with a 2.4 in. (61 mm) full- color LCD that can be programmed and controlled by using a four-way keypad, a PLC, or by USB con- nected directly to a PC. With a multi-purpose SD card, the LX500 allows for multiple controller pro-


gramming without needing an Ethernet connec- tion, and has the ability to record application data


and error faults in real time. Available in two- or four-head controller con-


figurations, the LX500 offers flexibility to corre- spond with the particular application requirements. Incorporating the company’s Intelli-Lamp LED technology, the LX500 can automatically and con- tinuously provide optical stability through a combi- nation of temperature measurement and LED life- time data management. tion LED alternative to Excelitas’ S2000 UV spot curing lamp system with real-time closed-loop feed- back technology using an integrated optical UV sen- sor. The LX500 incorporates all of the S2000’s per- formance advantages with the added benefits of LED. Included with the LX500 are the new UV LED MAX heads that deliver peak irradi- ance of up to 14 W/cm2 (365 nm) and 16 W/cm2 (385 nm) using a 3 mm (0.12 in.) focusing lens at a 10 mm (0.4 in.) working distance, with other wave- lengths such as 400 nm also available. The combination of the LX500 with high power UV LED heads provides fast, even curing of UV adhesives for superior product quality, rapid produc-
