Schaeffler Acquires Majority Stake in
Compact Dynamics GmbH Fort Mill, SC — Automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler has negotiated with SEMIKRON International GmbH to acquire a majority stake in Compact Dynamics GmbH, a manufacturer of high-performance electric motors. Schaef- fler and SEMIKRON have also agreed to cooperate and develop power electron- ics systems. With the acquisition and new collaboration, Shaeffler is expanding its expertise in electric motors and power electronics for the production of new electric drives. Compact Dynamics GmbH, based in Starnberg, Germany, is a specialist in innovative, electric drive concepts with a focus on high-performance drives and integrated lightweight construction in low-volume production and motor sport applications. Pillarhouse Sales Grow in the Far East
Elk Grove Village, IL — Pillarhouse has reported that its 2016 sales figures in the Far East market finished the year at an all-time high — up by 35 percent compared with 2015. The Chinese market increased by 30 percent, Japan by 42 percent, Singapore by 32 percent, and Taiwan by 60 percent. According to the company, the Far East now generates around 40 percent of Pillarhouse’s international sales.
