Schleuniger Displays Laser Wire Stripping Machine

Manchester, NH — Schleuniger is displaying its recently-introduced Mercury-4 laser wire stripping machine, part of the company’s com- prehensive line of wire processing products. The new machine, designed by

Laser Wire Solutions, strips wires and cables ranging in size from 50 to 6 AWG, and does not require any mechanical adjustments to process different sizes of wire. Using the color touchscreen, the

operator selects the desired stripping parameters from the programmed library and all parameters (strip lengths, laser power and speed, etc.) are automatically set. Once the opera- tor selects the required program, the machine is ready for operation. The Mercury-4 provides high-quality, nick- free stripping. With non-contact, no wear parts, the user does not need to worry about costly consumables. Schleuniger also offers its

UniStrip 2050. The wire stripping machine is a great solution for cus- tomers looking for a simple, low-cost pneumatic stripping unit for medi- um-sized cables and wires. The fully- pneumatic machine is extremely simple to set up and operate and excels with its compact design and ample stripping power. Debuted a year ago at the IPC

KIC Creates Smart Factory Starter Kit

San Diego, CA — KIC has introduced a retrofittable smart factory starter kit designed to bring smart factory concepts to the reflow oven, including machine optimization, process trans- parency, automation, flexible pro- duction, machine learning, real- time information and insight, reduced use of electricity, and con- nectivity. The KIC starter kit contains

the company’s all-new SPS seven- channel reflow profiler, RPI (reflow process inspection), and KIC’s Vantage network insight software with sequel server data- base, as well as an onsite visit by a KIC-certified technician. The potential of smart factory

technology is to deliver consistent quality, significantly low production costs, and more customer value than a conventional system. Factory own- ers’ movement toward the smart fac- tory is hampered by risk, uncertain- ty, and by the sheer scope of per- ceived investment in technology. For a limited investment, a

short amount of engineering time and a short amount of overall imple- mentation time, KIC is offering its starter kit to enable customers to immediately reap the benefits of

factory learning curve with low risk. The user can learn what works best and what does not, avoiding pitfalls and increasing production efficien- cies. Once the smart oven technology is implemented, the user is well-posi- tioned to take on the larger imple- mentation of an entirely smart pro-

duction process. Contact: KIC Thermal, 16120 W
