Travelling through the deserts and cities of Jordan and Syria enables you to follow in the footsteps of the Bedouin caravan trail.

Day 1: London – Amman Your bmi flight departs in the afternoon from Heathrow to Amman. Transfer to the Al-Qasr Metropole for the next 2 nights.

Day 2: Amman Welcome to Amman, one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world. Day at leisure, with an optional morning of sightseeing that will take in the Citadel and the Roman Theatre of Amman; or enjoy an authentic lunch at Rassoun with a local family in Jerash. (B)

Day 3: Amman – Mount Nebo – Kerak – Petra Leave the relatively modern elements of Amman behind as you journey south to the mythical carved city of Petra. Mount Nebo will be the first stop

to experience the Biblical promised lands that were presented to Moses by God. Nebo’s summit is approximately 2680ft above sea level; on a clear day you can see as far as Damascus and Jerusalem. Visit Kerak, the largest Crusader castle in the whole of the Eastern Mediterranean. Stay 2 nights at the Taybet Zaman Hotel in Petra. (B)

Day 4: The City of Petra Today you’re in for a real treat as you discover why Petra has been referred to as one of the world’s ‘must see’ places to visit. This amazing creation has been carved from the surrounding red stone rock face and once served 20,000 ancient Middle Eastern settlers known as the Nabataeans. (B)
