Peru, Ecuador & Galápagos

■ Machu Picchu ■ Lake Titicaca ■ Hiking the Inca Trail ■ Stepping Back in Time in Colonial Quito ■ Amazon Basin ■ Giant Tortoises

Prepare to send your vision (and camera) into overdrive. Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos are home to a wide range of experiences that can be difficult to choose from.

Peru is a country where practices run deep – 5000 years, to be exact the Incas truly fire the imagination! Home to the world’s first pyramids, whose genuine antiquity was only discovered in the last few years of the twentieth century, and so many other archeological sites which generate awe and wonder and attract visitors from all over the world. Equally unique and appealing, however, is the sheer beauty of the country’s landscapes, its abundant wildlife, and the strong character of its people.

In Ecuador, nowhere else on earth will you find so much natural diversity – and all the fun that goes with that – in such tiny a place. In one day’s drive you can journey from the Amazon Basin across glaciated Andean volcanoes, down through tropical cloud forest and into the sunset for a dinner of ceviche on the balmy Pacific coast. Perhaps the country’s greatest attractions, though, are the Galápagos Islands, whose extraordinary wildlife played a pivotal role in shaping Charles Darwin’s theories on evolution.
