Discover the stunning vistas, fertile volcanic lands and historic cultural heritage of Ecuador before exploring and relaxing on the Galapagos Islands that are teaming with native flora and fauna. This journey will take you through a deep colonial Spanish past and on-board a luxury motor yacht that will follow in the footsteps of Charles Darwin’s sailing ship, the Beagle.


Day 1: London – Ecuador Take a morning Iberia flight from London Heathrow via Madrid to Quito, the capital of Ecuador. On arrival this evening in Quito transfer to La Rábida Hotel for 3 nights.


Day 2: Quito – the Equator Tour downtown Quito through the spectacular churches and cathedrals that serve as a reminder to its Spanish colonial past. (B)


Day 3: Cayambe – Otavalo Leave Quito behind and head north along the Pan-American Highway which presents some stunning vistas across the dramatic mountain roads. Arrive in Otavalo and learn how to prepare your own traditional grilled trout, empanadas (pastries)and the famous helados de paila (ice cream made in the traditional way by hand


with pure fruit juice). Eat a typical 3-course-meal at Hacienda Cusin, which is a charming converted inn 20 mins into the countryside. (B/L)


Day 4: Baltra Island – Santa Cruz Island This morning, transfer to the local airport for a flight to Baltra Island which is located in the centre of the Galapagos archipelago. Once you arrive you’ll be invited on-board the pristine Galaxy motor yacht which will be your home for the next 3 nights. The Galaxy has 9 beautiful double berth cabins with private bathrooms and air-conditioning. The rest of the yacht contains a dining area, bar, lounge and spacious outdoor sun deck. This afternoon, cruise to the neighbouring island of Santa Cruz where you’ll find lava tunnels,
