A journey through southern India’s glittering highlights takes you across landscapes that span an extraordinary wealth of cultural and religious contrasts, for first time visitors to the sub-continent, for whom the country is a daunting prospect, the laid back south has a slower pace.


Day 1: London – Bangalore Depart Heathrow on Emirates overnight flight via Dubai to Bangalore.


Day 2: Bangalore Arrive in Bangalore and transfer to the Hotel Ramada for 1 night. The afternoon will include an orientation of this famous city including Tippu’s Palace, the Bull Temple and Lalbagh Botanical Gardens. (B)


Day 3: Bangalore – Hassan After breakfast transfer by road to Hassan arriving by afternoon to explore its nearby villages by bicycle. Overnight at the Hoysala Village Resort. (B)


Day 4: Hassan – Mysore Morning excursion to Belur and Halebid, two tiny but exquisite temple towns. In the afternoon drive to Mysore. Stay 2 nights at The Fern. (B)


Day 5: Mysore In the morning visit Srirangaptanam, an island formed by the subdivisions


of the River Cauvery and former capital city of Mysore. In the evening take a relaxing, walking tour through Mysore taking in the iconic landmarks such as the grand Amba Vilas Palace. (B)


Day 6: Mysore – Chennai Morning sightseeing of Mysore including the opulent Maharajah’s Palace. In the afternoon board the train for Chennai and arrive at The Park Pod for 1 night. (B)


Day 7: Chennai – Mamallapuram Take a tour in the morning through Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu. Sightseeing will include the British built Fort St George completed on St George’s day 1640, The Church of St Mary and St Thomas’s Basilica. The tour will conclude with a visit to the soaring Kapaleeshwarar Temple. Overnight at Chariot Beach Resort. (B)
