Brimming with exquisite natural beauty, vivacious street scenes and tremendous colonial grandeur, Peru holds more archaeological ruins than any other country in South America. From the almighty lost city of Machu Picchu to the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, she is the dazzling jewel in the Andean crown.


Day 1: London – Lima Fly from Heathrow via Madrid on Iberian Airlines during the day, arriving in Lima for 2 nights in the San Augustin Exclusive Hotel for 2 nights.


Day 2: Lima In the morning you will be picked up for your half day culinary tour in Lima (known as the gastronomical capital of South America) exploring the famous cuisine of Peru. Begin the tour visiting a traditional market to select your fresh local ingredients, later view a demonstration of food prepared in the native ceviche style. Next onto a tavern to learn how to prepare the acclaimed Peruvian-style ‘Pisco Sour’ cocktail, a fully interactive display to give you the chance to sample this unique creation. Afterwards enjoy a traditional lunch in a typical Peruvian restaurant to sample some local fare. (B/L)


Day 3: Lima – Cusco – Sacred Valley In the morning transfer to Lima airport to board a flight to Cusco – the archaeological capital of the region – and on to the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, visiting the Moray Amphitheatre en-route; some of the most impressive Inca architecture. After lunch visit the mystical Inca town of Ollantaytambo the best surviving example of Inca town planning. Stay for 2 nights at San Agustin Recoleta. (B/L)


Day 4: Sacred Valley of the Incas You have the option today to spend the day at leisure in laid back Ollantaytambo. Alternatively there is an optional trekking tour to Yucay (approx 5 hours with boxed lunch) after which you’ll have the chance to explore ancient cave paintings
