Servicemaster acquires Rosemary Bookkeeping

n Leicester-based multi-brand franchisor ServiceMaster has acquired Rosemary Bookkeeping, as it grows its operation across the UK. One of the UK’s largest and longest- established franchisors, ServiceMaster launched in the UK in 1959 and now has fi ve franchise brands in its portfolio. Rosemary Bookkeeping, which was founded in 2009, provides a practical approach to bookkeeping for small and medium-sized companies, and has close working relationships with accountancy fi rms. The business currently has 15 franchise outlets across the UK and ServiceMaster plans to expand on this fi gure.

Alan Lewin, managing director of ServiceMaster, says: “We are delighted to be able to announce the acquisition of Rosemary Bookkeeping. The investment makes good business sense to us as an organisation, as it tucks neatly into our structure as a multi-brand franchisor. It also serves to complement and broaden

the B2B range of services off ered by the already-established ServiceMaster portfolio of franchise brands here in the UK. “Existing Rosemary Bookkeeping franchisees will benefi t from access to the skills and resources provided by the ServiceMaster franchise services group. We are able to provide additional help in marketing, sales and other operational areas of franchise development and management to help existing Rosemary Bookkeeping franchise partners realise the signifi cant growth potential of their franchise businesses. “We will also be actively recruiting new investors into the Rosemary Bookkeeping network, as we start to drive and market the opportunity under the ServiceMaster franchise services group banner.” Lisa Curteis, founding director of Rosemary Bookkeeping, comments: “Launching Rosemary Bookkeeping fulfi lled a personal ambition to share my business know-how with others and I’m proud that we’ve been able to take the

franchise business this far. I’m excited for the future of our franchise partners and our brand with ServiceMaster.” ServiceMaster has more than 300 franchisees operating in close to 700 licensed areas under its brands, which include Merry Maids, ServiceMaster Clean, Furniture Medic and TruGreen Professional LawnCare.

It could be you!

n Ellis Bardsley had 25 years of corporate experience behind him when he heard about ActionCOACH.

He says: “Although I had corporate experience, it was never with blue- chip companies, always with time- poor, cash-poor businesses working hard with limited resources to succeed. I was very attracted by the ActionCOACH approach. I saw the franchise as an opportunity to take my practical business experience and apply it to a proven system to create a concept that was equally useful to large companies as it was to small and medium-sized enterprises. “I signed up my fi rst client in October 2013, within a month of launching

my business in Oxfordshire. It’s been four years since then, and for the last year we’ve been fi rmly established in the top 100 ActionCOACH list globally! The support I’ve received has been outstanding and that’s priceless with a new business venture. “With ActionCOACH I’m building a business that delivers value to business owners, to people with genuine challenges needing guidance. The coming years will be about restructuring the business to deal with an ever- increasing number of clients – and to help people achieve their goals.” Ellis’s business now employs a team including his wife, Ally, and his middle son, Sam.

“My eldest son, Josh, runs his marketing company from our shared offi ce. Toby, our youngest, is still at school but will no doubt join in at some stage! Via ActionCOACH we’re changing the lives of our clients, their teams and families while growing, employing

people in our own business and contributing to the next generation of young entrepreneurs.”
