Dyfed Powys – Subsistence Allowance and Compensation
Introduction
Members raised concerns about inconsistencies in subsistence allowances and compensation for Bank Holiday and annual leave work among officers in collaborative units.
Description
Officers performing the same roles in joint units were subject to differing compensation and meal allowance rates, with discrepancies stemming from varied interpretations of police regulations.
Resolution
The Federation clarified the correct regulations for the Finance Department. A proposal to increase maximum subsistence allowances, aligned with inflation and other force policies, was also submitted and accepted.
Outcome
Officers received compensation for owed hours, equal pay and conditions were established for joint unit roles, and subsistence allowances were increased across the force.
