LEGAL SERVICES NEGOTIATION INFLUENCING

REPRESENTATION PENSIONS

The Pensions Team provides support to the National and Deputy National Secretary on matters relating to police pensions and queries on the Police Pension Regulations. It also provides support to forces, Federation representatives and Branch Boards.

We know that pensions are a significant concern for members, which is why the Pensions Team have been increasing the amount of information available to members. We are seeking to simplify and inform on the complicated topic of pensions. To support our members, the team:

•Keep an up-to-date website with the most recent information on variety of pensions topics. The information is also broken down by topic, so members can easily access the information they require. The link to the website is here: Pensions Update (polfed.org)

•Have recently launched a regular newsletter that summarises the remedy changes that have recently occurred and provides information on the pension schemes.

•We also have a pensions enquiry mailbox to support in giving advice and answers to branch boards and members.

•Provide presentations to members, Branch Boards, Secretaries, Chairs, and the National Board. There are plans to develop this further.
