5. Present ideas to others for feedback
We held a peer discussion session during a single class. We sat in groups of four and discussed our solutions. Our teacher gave each group verbal feedback identifying what we were doing well and ways to improve our work. I will continue to add to this section throughout the design brief process and gather evidence of feedback. The following is a sample of feedback I recorded from my teacher and peers.
Peer feedback
Teacher feedback On 25 January my teacher recommended that I visit a local public health nurse to ask her more about the nutritional needs of adolescents. I had never thought of this as a source of information as I was relying on the internet. I can see how this would make my project unique and allow me to ask a health professional specific questions.

Having considered the research I conducted and all the feedback I received, I have come up with the following solution for my brief.

I have chosen this main course because it contains foods from the five main food groups (as seen in the food pyramid beside the menu). This makes it a balanced and nutritious dish for an adolescent. They will receive the essential nutrients needed.

fruit group, I included peppers, sweetcorn, salad and fresh berries. This provides vitamins such as vitamin C.

Homemade pizza topped with ham, peppers, sweetcorn and grated Cheddar, served with baked sweet potato chips and homemade aioli.
A fresh garden salad on the side. A homemade berry blast smoothie.
On 25 January, during a peer feedback session, one of my peers (aged 15) said my two chosen dishes perfectly suited the brief. He said that pizza and burgers were his favourite meals, but he often worried about how much fat they contained. He said he would pick my dishes instead of his normal ones as they seemed much more nutritionally balanced. This made me feel proud and gave me confidence for the practical exam to come.
