dyspareunia (pain during sexual intercourse). The grouping of the four groups having applied the active ingredient shows a significant improvement of all the self-scores, indicating the effectiveness of the active ingredient. Red kapok flower polysaccharides reduced discomfort sensations (burning -92%**, pruritus -93%**) and improves women’s sexual lives (dyspareunia -83%**) (Figure 6A). For the post-menopausal groups, we
observed a significant improvement in the sensation of burning (-100%**), pruritus (-96%**) and dyspareunia (-89%**) for the active group, with the control group only declaring a borderline-significant improvement in the sensation of pruritus. The comparison between the 2 groups did not show any significant difference (Figure 6B). The active treatment improves overall
the self-scores expressed by the subjects. A satisfaction questionnaire was also conducted on the active ingredient groups (groups 1 to 4) after 28 days with very good results: 89% of women find that the product reduces the irritating sensations; 81% of women have seen an improvement of their sexual life; and 87% of women find that the product reduces dryness.

Conclusion Red kapok flower extract is thus particularly recommended for intimate hygiene care as the clinical study demonstrated its protective effect on vaginal flora and on intimate comfort. The balance is restored for an improved sexual life. This active ingredient is also recommended for acne-prone skin, skin prone atopy/eczema or hypersensitivity, as well as for deodorant formulas.
