Advantech Driving Performance in Iberia
Continuing our regular TeamTalk feature with Advantech, this month we discuss serving the needs of the Iberian gaming market with David Ramos García,
Advantech Sales Manager for the Iberia region. He explains how local knowledge is key to providing the best service in a market hungry for personalised solutions.
David, how long you've been with Advantech and what’s been your career journey so far?
I joined Advantech 11 years ago to grow the Key Account business and strengthen our channel network. Over the years, we’ve built a robust local team that now serves both areas effectively across the Iberian market. Prior to Advantech, I held roles as Product Manager and Technical Director in distribution, which provided a solid foundation for my work in advancing Advantech’s presence in Spain and Portugal.

What significant trends are you currently observing or predicting in the gaming market?
In the Iberian gaming market, AI and edge computing are becoming essential, especially for real-time, data-driven experiences. Personalisation through AI is in high demand, particularly in sports betting, which is rapidly expanding. Sustainability is another key focus, with operators increasingly prioritising power efficiency and eco- friendly practices. Advantech is well-equipped to support these trends, offering low-power, high-performance hardware solutions that align with our longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability.
Considering the market dynamics in Iberia, what crucial advice would you give to new entrants or suppliers entering the market?
Success in Iberia starts with a deep understanding of local regulations and player preferences, which differ between Spain and Portugal. Compliance is essential, and attention to cultural nuances can enhance engagement and market fit. Building partnerships with established local operators offers valuable insights and a foundation for growth. Additionally, investing in sustainable practices and innovative technologies, such as AI and data-driven gaming, is key to capturing customer interest in this competitive market.
What are your key ambitions and goals for Advantech in 2025?
By 2025, Advantech aims to strengthen its role as a leader in gaming technology within Iberia, focusing on sustainable, high-performance solutions. Our strategy includes deepening partnerships with local developers and operators to deliver adaptable, innovative solutions that meet the unique demands of the Iberian market.
