Between the Indus Valley and the Indian Himalaya is the once independent Kingdom of Ladakh. We trek from Padum to Lamayuru across jagged rocky landscapes, barren plains and high passes. Surrounded by magnifi cent scenery we explore remote monasteries and palaces. We also spend time meeting Zanskari villagers and learning about the fascinating mountain traditions.


17 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Delhi. Days 2/3 Leh Fly to the Ladakhi capital. Spend time acclimatising before exploring the monasteries at Shey, Thiksay and Hemis. Days 4/5 Padum Drive via Kargil to the start point of the trek in Padum. Days 6/7 River walk Following the Doda River, trek to the 15th century Gelupa Monastery. Continue along the banks of the Zanskar River to the small
