Explore two of Georgia’s remote trekking regions as we trek through deep valleys, past villages to dramatic glaciers. After exploring the capital Tbilisi we travel north to Kazbegi and take day walks through Truso Gorge, to Trinity Church and to the foot of Mount Chaukhebi. Travelling east we explore the remote Svaneti region with walks to Mount Ushgali, Mount Shkhara and Mt Chalaadi.


15 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Tbilisi. Afternoon tour of the city. Day 2 Kazbegi Leave Tbilisi and drive along the Georgian Military Highway to Kazbegi. Visit the Jvari Monastery in Mtskheta en route. Day 3 Trinity Church Walk from Kazbegi through forested valleys until we reach the Gergeti Trinity Church, located with impressive views across the Mount Kazbegi glacier. Walk to Gveleti waterfalls. Day 4 Mount Chaukhebi Drive through the Sno Valley until we reach Juta. Trek from Juta to the base of Mount Chaukhebi (3842m). Return to Kazbegi. Day 5 Truso Gorge Drive to Kobi village and begin our trek along the Truso Gorge to the carbonated lake. The lake is naturally carbonated and looks as if it is constantly boiling. Day 6 Cave complex Leaving Kazbegi we drive to Gori and visit the Stalin Museum. Visit Uplistsikhre Cave town on the way to Kutaisi. Day 7 Gelati Visit the Gelati Monastery, home to an

ornate mosaic depiction of the Virgin and Child. Damaged in an earthquake the upper half is still intact and the lower section has been repaired and painted in sections. Days 8/9 Mestia Trek through woodland to the base of Mount Ushba. Continue further along the valley to waterfalls at the base of Ushba glacier. Day 10 Mount Chalaadi Follow the Mestia River to the base of the Chalaadi Glacier. Day 11 Ushguli Drive to Ushguli and trek to the top of Mount Garo for views of Mount Ushgali. Day 12 Mount Shkhara Trek to the base of Georgia’s highest mountain, Mount Shkhara (5068m) following the banks of the glacial river. Days 13/14 Tbilisi Return to Tbilisi stopping to explore Tskaltubo grotto on the way. Day 15 Tour ends Tbilisi.
