Following ancient pathways we explore this unique region of central Turkey. We discover the famous ‘fairy chimneys’, rock-cut churches and the spectacular underground city of Kaymakli. From the Ihlara Valley we begin a 6-day trek through the landscapes of Cappadocia, following little-known trails past orchards and vineyards to traditional villages. Along the way we visit local landmarks including Uchisar ‘Castle’.


9 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Istanbul. Day 2 Istanbul Tour the city including Sultanahmet Square and the Blue Mosque. Fly to Kayseri. Day 3 Ihlara Valley Hike from Ihlara to Selime via Belisirma. Explore the valley – famous for its caves and rock-cut churches painted with religious frescoes by Byzantine priests. Day 4 Underground City and Zemi Valley Visit Agzikarahan


Caravanserai. Explore the ancient underground city of Kaymakli. Make a circular walk through the Zemi Valley. Days 5/8 Goreme Spend four days trekking through the unique landscapes of Cappadocia. Based in Goreme, we walk along ancient trails through the valleys of ‘fairy chimneys’, and rock-cut houses and churches. We also visit local landmarks such as Uchisar
