Day walks from our comfortable hotel to view the sheer pinnacles of the Dolomites


Based in the town of Dobbiaco we explore the strikingly beautiful rock towers and limestone cliffs of the Dolomites. We enjoy scenic treks through alpine meadows and pine forests, with views of the emerald waters of Lake Braies and the great cliffs of Croda Rosa Pizora. Every evening we can relax in the hotel pool, gym or sauna and enjoy Germanic infl uenced cuisine.


8 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Venice airport. Bus to Dobbiaco. Day 2 Ridge Walk Trek along the Italian-Austrian border with great views of the Dolomites and WW1 buildings. Day 3 Lake Braies Climb to the view point above the Lake and cross a high-sided pass before descending into the valley. Day 4 Free day Relax or take an optional visit to Cortina, Lienz or the ‘Ice man’ at Bolzano. Day 5 Tre Cime An undoubted highlight and big mountain traverse to see the magnifi cent Tre Cime: huge limestone

Day 2 - 12km Day 3 - 10km


cliffs and rock towers that stand almost 3000m high. Day 6 Mount Serla Climb to Flodige Sattel Pass (2163m) and walk to Mount Serla (2378m); descend to Dobbiaco. Day 7 Trek from Pratopiazza to Lake Braies through wild mountain upland, passing Croda Rosa that glows red in the sunshine. Day 8 Travel to Venice airport where tour ends.

Centre-based in Dobbiaco


We stay in a good 3-star, family-run hotel located in the small town of Dobbiaco – an excellent location for exploring the Italian Dolomites. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool with sauna, wellness centre and a small gym. The hotel is in the centre of the town, close to shops, restaurants, outdoor shops and public transport.

Accommodation: 7 nights hotels. Meals: 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners are included. Tour staff: Explore Tour Leader and driver(s). Transport: Bus, train and cable car. Trekking Details: This is a 5 day trek with an average of 5 to 6 hours walking each day. We follow well- maintained trails. The hike to Tre Cime is tougher as we climb and descend 1000m and walk for approx 7hrs. We have graded this trek as moderate. Group Size: Generally 10 to 16.
