A collection of day walks exploring the remote and little-known mountains of Albania


Explore the mysteries of Albania on this scenic trekking holiday. The highlight of the trip will be the little visited north of the country where we trek in the stunning ‘Albanian Alps’ region. We also walk along dramatic coastlines in Llogora National Park. As well as scenic walks, we will visit several traditional coastal villages and historical and cultural monuments.


8 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Tirana. Drive to Vlora, an ancient city on the Adriatic Sea. Days 2/3 Llogara NP Travel through western Albania to Llogora National Park. Walk to Caesar’s Pass. Hike on the spectacular Karaburun Peninsula. Visit the beautiful beach at the village of Dhermi. Day 4 Tirana Drive to the capital. Visit the Apollonia ruins, the Byzantine Monastery and the Museum of Archaeology. Hike to the Black Cave of Pellumbas. Day 5 Thethi Valley Drive to the village of Thethi and admire the views of Shkodra Lake and the Montenegro mountains on the way.

Day 2 - 4hrs Llogora National Park


Spend two nights in a village house. Day 6 Thethi Valley Explore one of the most charming villages in northern Albania and visit the waterfall, church and stone-walled terraces. Walk to the Kaprea Valley. Day 7 Albanian Alps Trek along Mutton Pass to the Shepherds Kraal. Drive through the Boga Valley to the city of Shkodra. Day 8 Drive to Kruja and visit the fortress and citadel. Tour ends Tirana.
