On this walking tour in Romania we experience traditional local hospitality, discover beautiful countryside and explore historic towns. We travel deep into the Transylvanian Alps, the legendary home of Dracula. We walk through the imposing Bran Valley and return to welcoming mountain huts to enjoy delicious meals.


8 day tour itinerary


Day 1 Join tour Bucharest airport. Drive to Sinaia. Day 2 Bucegi Plateau Optional tour of the ornately decorated Peles Castle. Take a cable car into the heart of Dracula territory, the Transylvanian Alps. The forests are home to European brown bears, wolves and wild boars. Walk to the mountain hut. Piatra Craiului Mountains. Day 4 Bran Castle Optional visit to the castle. Walk towards the Piatra Craiului Mountains and enjoy a hot meal at the mountain hut at the end of the day. Day 5 Piatra Craiului Today we will explore the Craiului mountains with a cirular walk from the mountain hut. Day 6 Cold Mountain Walk through the beautiful Zarnesti Gorge, where a number of

Accommodation: 4 nights standard hotels, 3 nights basic mountain hut. Meals: 7 breakfasts, 5 lunches and 5 dinners are included. Tour staff: Explore Tour Leader and driver(s). Transport: Bus and cable car. Trekking Details: We walk for 5 days for an average of 6 to 7 hours a day. There are some steep ascents and descents through forest and rocky mountain paths.
