TOUBKAL LONG WEEKEND
On this short trip we focus on climbing to the summit of North Africa’s highest peak, Jebel Toubkal (4165 metres). We travel from the ancient walled city of Marrakech to the High Atlas mountains, enjoying traditional Berber hospitality as we make our ascent. From the peak we have panoramic views across the entire Atlas chain.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Fly to Marrakech. Day 2 Jebel Toubkal Trek Drive to Imlil, trek to the Berber village of Aremd (1950m). Trek along the Mizane Valley to the shrine at Sidi Chamarouch and on to the camp at 3206m. Day 3 Jebel Toubkal Trek Start the climb to the summit of Jebel Toubkal in the early hours aiming to arrive just after sunrise. Enjoy breathtaking views across the entire Atlas chain before trekking back to Aremd. Spend the night in a village house. Day 4 Marrakech Walk to Imlil and drive to Marrakech. Explore the historic sites, souks and maze of alleyways on a tour of the city. Spend an evening in the Djemma El Fna square. Day 5 Fly to the UK.

Trekking Details: This is a 2-day trek with 4 to 5 hours walking on the first day and 11 to 13 hours walking on the second day. We reach a maximum altitude of 4165m and have graded this trek as strenuous. Mules carry the luggage.
