This week-long trekking adventure takes us into the beautiful high mountain scenery of Picos de Europa National Park. We ride a cable car into the unspoilt landscapes of the Central Massif and hike to the base of Naranjo de Bulnes mountain. ITINERARY
MAP Day 1 Fly to Bilbao and drive to Espinama. Day 2 Central Massif Take a cable car to ascend 1000m into the heart of the central range. Hike up to Horcados Rojos saddle for our picnic with a view and return by cable car to Fuente De. Day 3 Picos National Park Hike over Iguerdi Pass and through a dramatic U-shaped valley to Sotres – the highest inhabited village in the Picos. Day 4 Naranjo de Bulnes Drive to Pandebano. Trek to Vega de Urriello Refuge at the foot of the iconic Pico de Naranjo. Day 5 Balcony Walk Hike to the Fuentesoles Pass and descend to the hamlet of Treviso. Follow an old mining track to Urdon Gorge and continue along mule trails. Drive to Sotres. Day 6 Cares Gorge Travel to Poncebos and walk through the imposing Cares Gorge. SNOW-SHOEING IN THE PICOS DE EUROPA
This snow-shoeing adventure takes us through the dramatically beautiful snow-capped mountains of Picos de Europa National Park. We experience a variety of mountain scenery on snow shoe routes in the Eastern, Western and Central Massifs. As a fitting finale we leave the snow behind and trek along cliff-cut pathways through the imposing Cares Gorge.

ITINERARY
Day 1 Fly to Oviedo and drive to Benia de Onis. Day 2 Western Massif Easy to use and suitable for beginners, we don our snow shoes and walk in the Cornion Range from Covadonga Lake with an ascent to the Vegarredonda Refuge. Day 3 Eastern Massif From our base in Sotres, we head deep into the Andara range. Day 4 Espinama We traverse the scenic Duje valley, making our way south through a corridor of high peaks. Day 5 Central Massif From Fuente De we ride an exhilarating cable car into the heart of the Picos and make our way back to Sotres. Day 6 Bulnes Only accessible by footpath until 2001, we shoe show to Bulnes village before descending the dramatic Texu gorge to Poncebos. Day 7 Cares Gorge Today we leave the snow behind on a walk through the imposing Cares Gorge. Day 8 Drive to Bilbao and fly to the UK.
