Machu Picchu HEIGHTS OF MACHU PICCHU


Explore the highlights of Peru on this fascinating two-week trip. Along the way we discover Lake Titicaca, the birthplace of the Inca civilisation. From Cusco, the ancient Inca capital, we travel into the Sacred Valley to begin our 4-day trek along the trail to the impressive mountain citadel of Machu Picchu.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Lima. Day 2 Sillustani funeral towers Fly to Juliaca. Visit the Inca burial towers at Sillustani. Day 3 Lake Titicaca Travel to the world’s highest navigable lake. There are optional trips to the Indian communities on Uros and Taquile Islands. Days 4/5 Cusco Explore this colonial town on a walking tour and visit the colourful Pisac Market and Sacsayhuaman. Days 6/10 Inca Trail Trek to the historic remains of Machu Picchu following the famous Inca trail. Re-visit Machu Picchu on the final day before returning to Cusco. Days 11/12 Rafting Enjoy two free days in Cusco. Choose from a range of optional activities including white-water rafting. Day 13 Lima Fly to the capital. Days 14/15 Overnight flight to the UK.
