On this walking trip through Croatia's National Parks, we explore the jagged mountain peaks of Dalmatia, the plunging gorges of Paklenica and admire the spectacular lakes and waterfalls of Plitvice. Along the way we also visit the pretty coastal cities of Split and Trogir, discovering a maze of cobbled streets, meandering alleyways and medieval architecture.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Fly to Zagreb. Day 2 Plitvice National Park Tour the city of Zagreb. Drive to Plitvice and admire the breathtaking views of the lakes and waterfalls. Days 3/5 Paklenica National Park Explore Paklenica National Park. This region contains some of the most spectacular walking opportunities in Croatia, with majestic landscapes, plunging gorges and jagged mountain peaks. Walk along coastal paths through small villages and hike the dramatic Paklenica Gorge. Day 6 Trogir Explore the cave complex at Vranjaca. Travel to Trogir; one of the oldest cities in Croatia and a World Heritage Site. Discover the city’s medieval, Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Explore the elegant promenade and maze of streets in the old town. Day 7 Split Enjoy a free morning. Travel to Split and tour the city. Day 8 Fly to the UK.

From the lakes, canyons and mountains of Durmitor National Park to the towering ramparts of the medieval city of Kotor, we explore the spectacular landscapes and fascinating cities of Montenegro. Along the way we hike to the summit of Mount Vrmac, sail on Skadar Lake, explore the fortified city of Kotor and climb to the rim of Mrtvica Canyon.
ITINERARY
Day 1 Fly to Podgorica and travel to Virpazar. Day 2 Skadar Lake National Park Take a boat trip along the largest lake in the Balkans. Visit a local wine producer and sample some of the region’s finest produce. Days 3/5 Durmitor National Park Hike the Mrtvica Canyon and visit the Gate of Wishes. Enjoy three days walking in Durmitor National Park amongst glacial lakes and mountain peaks. Day 6 Ostrog Monastery Travel to the 17th Century Ostrog Monastery, dramatically built into a sheer cliff face. Continue to the small town of Prcanj. Day 7 Kotor Explore the medieval city of Kotor including the ramparts, with an optional boat trip around the Bay of Kotor. Day 8 Mount Vrmac Hike along ancient pathways to the summit of Vrmac Mountain. Return to Prcanj. Day 9 Dubrovnik Enjoy a free day to relax. Optional activities include a visit to Dubrovnik or kayaking to Kotor Fjord. Day 10 Travel to Podgorica. Fly to the UK.
