THE INCATRAIL

The Inca Trail in Peru is one of South America’s best-loved trekking adventures. Join us as we follow in the footsteps of the Incas, discovering the mountain citadel of Machu Picchu and other magnificent relics of the ‘Empire of the Sun’.

We traverse the Andes: walking in the shadow of snow-capped peaks, through tropical cloud forest and over ‘Dead Woman’s Pass’ (which at 4200m is the highest point on the trek.) Finally, we arrive at the ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu. We also visit the ruins of Llactapata, Sayaqmarka, Puyupatamarka and Winay-Wayna, camping beneath the stars and admiring awe-inspiring sunsets and sunrises.

We offer six trekking tours on the Inca Trail. These range from 11 to 21 days, allowing you to combine your trek with visits to the region’s other attractions.

Places are limited so book early!

Each day, only around 200 trekkers secure permits to walk on the Inca Trail and popular dates sell out many months in advance.

NEW for 2012

If permits are no longer available for your chosen date or you want to walk on a less trekked trail, we offer an alternative Inca Trail trek – The Sun Trail.

This sacred path around the Apu Salkantay offers remote walking in stunning landscapes and past Inca archaeological sites. Plus we still visit Machu Picchu at the end of the trek. Contact us for more details.
