Namche Bazaar EVEREST TEAHOUSE TRAILS
Experience local culture and enjoy the warm hospitality of the Sherpa people as we stay in family-run teahouses. We begin an 8-day trek through the Dudh Kosi and Khumbu Valleys and climb to the village of Namche Bazaar. We admire some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the Himalayas including Ama Dablam (6856m), Lhotse (8512m) and Mount Everest (8848m).
ITINERARY
Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Kathmandu. Day 3 Kathmandu Enjoy a walking tour of the old city. Days 4/6 Begin trek Fly to Lukla. Begin our trek following the famous trail to Mount Everest. Hike along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River to the town of Namche Bazaar and visit the weekly market. Days 7/8 Namche Bazaar to Deboche Descend through forests of blue pine and cross the Dudh Kosi River to Phungki Tenga (3250m). Trek to Thyangboche Monastery (3867m). Continue to Deboche (3800m). Admire magnificent panoramas of the Himalayas including: Mount Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Kangtega (6779m) and Lhotse (8512m). Day 9 Deboche to Khumjung Along the way visit the local school, the monastery or the highest bakery in the world. Day 10 Khumjung to Monzo Optional trip to Everest View Hotel for spectacular mountain panoramas. Hike through Khunde village and visit the local hospital built by the Himalayan Trust. Descend south to Namche and continue down the Dudh Kosi Valley to Monzo. Day 11 Monzo to Lukla Trek along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River to the Lukla plateau. Days 12/13 Kathmandu Return to the capital. Optional visit to medieval Bhaktapur, Pashupatinath and Bodnath. Day 14 Fly to the UK.
