EVEREST IN STYLE


This rewarding trek follows part of the legendary Everest expedition route into the heart of the Himalayan Mountains. Enjoying the warm hospitality of Sherpa lodges, we travel from Lukla through the Dudh Kosi valley to the Buddhist monastery at Thyangboche. We enjoy spectacular views of Mount Everest, experience the lively bazaar in Namche and explore the impressive temples in Kathmandu.


ITINERARY


Days 1/2 Overnight flight to Kathmandu. Day 3 Kathmandu Enjoy a guided walk of the old city, bazaars and temples. Day 4 Trek begins Fly to Lukla. Meet the Sherpa guides and start the trek along the banks of the Dudh Kosi River. Trek to Phakding (2650m). Day 5 Namche Bazaar Enter Sagarmatha National Park and ascend to Namche, the Sherpa centre of the Khumbu region. Day 6 Khumjung Stop at Sir Edmund Hilary’s Hospital enroute to Khumjung, home to the world’s highest bakery. Visit the monastery. Day 7 Highest peak Follow a steep trail to the Thyangboche Monastery (3867m). Day 8 Monzo Return through Namche with a chance to see herds of Himalayan Tahr (goat antelopes). Day 9 Lukla Visit a teaching monastery on the return to Lukla. Day 10 Kathmandu Fly to the capital. Free afternoon. Day 11 Temples Optional visit to medieval Bakhtapur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Day 12 Fly to the UK.
