TUSCANY: CHIANTI CLASSICO


Beautiful cities, rolling hills and fine wines are all part of this walking holiday in Tuscany. We stay in a traditional villa in the heart of Chianti and enjoy walks through sun-drenched vineyards. We also explore the historic cities of Florence and Siena, visit the medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano and sample the delicious local wine.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Florence and drive to Castellina in Chianti. Day 2 Winelands Walk through the forests, vineyards and Chianti villages of the Greve area where ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ was filmed. Day 3 San Gimignano Walk countryside trails and see the magnificent sight of thirteen medieval towers, perched majestically on a hilltop. Explore the town of San Gimignano. Day 4 Siena Explore the beautiful city. Visit the famous Piazza del Campo, home to the Palio horserace and wander the maze of narrow streets. Day 5 Chianti Walk through vineyards and Tuscan villages. Optional wine tasting tour. Day 6 Florence Spiritual home of the Renaissance, the city is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Italy. Explore the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio. Day 7 Tuscan countryside Walk through Castellina Forest and across rolling hills with distant views of the towers of San Gimignano and Siena. Day 8 Drive to Florence and fly to the UK.
