WALKING IN THE ANDORRAN PYRENEES


Hidden deep in the Pyrenees, Andorra is one of the smallest countries in Europe and it offers superb summer walking. We base ourselves in the village of Soldeu and enjoy some of the area’s most beautiful walks. We trek in the UNESCO-protected valley of Madriu-Perafita-Claror and the Sorteny Valley, home to more than 700 species of flowers and plants.


ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Barcelona and drive to Soldeu. Day 2 Cabana Sorda Lake Walk up the Incle Valley through beautiful forest to Cabana Sorda Lake. Day 3 Sorteny Valley Drive to north-eastern Andorra and walk in the Sorteny Valley, home to a splendid diversity of alpine flowers. Reach Estanyo Lake at 2390m. Day 4 Optional activities Visit the capital of Andorra or walk in the local area. Day 5 Vall del Riu Drive to Ransol village and walk to the beautiful valley of Vall del Riu. Visit the village of Canillo. Day 6 Vall del Madriu-Perafita-Claror Drive to Saint Miquel d’Engolaters and walk to the UNESCO-protected valley of Madriu- Perafita-Claror. Day 7 Optional activities Go white-water rafting, take a four-wheel drive excursion or enjoy walks in the area. Day 8 Drive to Barcelona and fly to the UK.
