Mount Etna WALKING IN SARDINIA


Based in the village of Orosei we climb to the summit of Monte Corrasi – the highest peak in the Supramonte Mountain Range at 1463m. We also enjoy walks along the Mediterranean coast and unwind on Cala di Luna Beach. Along the way we explore the Gola di Gorrupu Canyon and admire spectacular panoramas from the top of Tuttavista Mountain.

ITINERARY


Day 1 Fly to Olbia and drive to Orosei. Day 2 Coastal Walk Trek from the village of Cala Gonone along the coast to Cala di Luna Beach. Relax on the the beach and take a dip in the sea. Return to Cala Gonone by boat and explore the village. Day 3 Tuttavista Take a taxi to the foothills of Tuttavista Mountain and climb to the summit for impressive panoramas over the island. Day 4 Free day Unwind on the coast or travel to one of the impressive archaeological sites in the region, including Nuraghes or the Giant Tombs. Day 5 Supramonte Mountains Travel by bus to Oliena Village – the gateway to the Supramonte Mountain Range. Climb to the Scala e’Pradu plateau and trek to the summit of Monte Corrasi – Supramonte’s highest peak at 1463m. Day 6 Gola di Gorropu Drive to Silana Mountain Pass and descend through the valley to the entrance of

Travel with us to Sicily as we hike the spectacular north face of Mount Etna (3300m) - Europe’s largest volcano. We can also trek through dense vegetation to the crater of Stromboli, one of the world’s most active volcanoes. We admire the glow of incandescent lava at night and hope to see a natural firework display.

Day 1 Fly to Catania and drive to Sant’ Alfio. Days 2/3 Mount Etna Explore the craters and lava fields of this active volcano. Optional climb to the summit of Europe’s largest volcano (3300m). Day 4 Stromboli Sail past the jagged cliffs of Panarea Island to the cone of Stromboli – one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Optional trek through dense vegetation to the summit and peer into the crater. Admire the glow of incandescent lava at night. Days 5/6 Lipari Travel to the pretty harbour town and enjoy a free day to unwind in thermal springs. Sail to the Island of Vulcano and trek to the ‘Gran Cratere’ for views across the Aeolian Islands. Return to Lipari and enjoy a warm mud bath. Day 7 Etna Optional climb to the summit of Rocca Novara (1340m) with views of Etna. See the gorge of Gola Alcantara – made of hot molten lava and visit the seaside town of Giovani Naxos. Travel to Taormina. Day 8 Taormina. Fly to the UK
