Giants Causeway
There are many myths and legends about Ireland, but none better than that surrounding the World Heritage site of the Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim in Northern Ireland. Created by a volcanic eruption, it consists of some 40,000 perfectly formed columnar basalt. Legend has it that the “bridge originally stretched to Scotland, but that the Irish Giant Fionn mac Cumhaill tricked his Scottish counterpart into running away from a fight and ripping up the bridge in his efforts to escape.
